Balance Through Movement
Sarah Spivey is the owner of Balance Through Movement. Sarah was not interested in fitness and did not spend much time exercising until her mid-twenties when she tried her first Pilates class. After attending a Pilates mat class at her local fitness center for a year or so, she decided to get her matwork certification.
She completed her mat training in August 2007 through PhysicalMind Institute®. She loved the experience and decided to leave her career of teaching school for a career in Pilates. She completed her apparatus certification in November of 2007.
In April of 2008, Sarah opened a studio in Southern Pines, North Carolina with a friend and fellow instructor. In December of 2009, Sarah and her husband moved to Colorado where Sarah took a break from working to stay home with her first baby who was born in March of 2010. In January of 2011 Sarah went back to work teaching Pilates and became a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
In December of 2011, Sarah decided to open another studio in Colorado. Sarah enjoys working with clients of all fitness levels, but is especially interested in helping clients who are looking for rehabilitation after an injury or surgery. Sarah has worked with clients with a host of physical limitations including Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and a multitude of spinal disorders. She has also worked with professional athletes.
In April of 2014, Sarah completed all three levels CoreAlign® training and is currently working toward becoming a Qualified CoreAlign® Instructor.
Sarah is now enrolled as a student at Metropolitan State University in Denver to complete her prerequisites to be able to apply to a Doctor of Physical Therapy program in the Fall of 2017.
